This discussion will be focused on cross-cultural friendships.  We will also discuss how we can share cultural traditions with friends in many ways.

Students will spend time determining why they speak in different ways to different people.  We will also discuss how learning through books can teach us many new things.

Field Trip

Dear Students and Families,

I have some exciting news for our classroom!  On June 5th, we will be participating in a field trip to the local historical site, Naper Settlement.

Students will have the opportunity to explore the location in a hands-on manner and see various styles of homes from the late 1800s.  The guides at Naper Settlement are experts regarding the museums and have offered to present a “day in the life” simulation for students.  This experience directly ties in with our Social Studies and Literature units and will assist in students developing connections with the text.

Departure: 9:45 AM
Return: 2:15 PM
Travel Form: Bus

The cost for the field trip will be $5.00 to assist in the bus fees.  I also ask that students bring a completely disposable lunch.

Our classroom will need two parent chaperones.  If you are interested or have any questions, please contact me at 630-555-3345 or mguido@noreply.edu
